Saturday’s local celebrations for Halloween include:

Calabasas Days Pumpkin Festival will sponsor a Halloween parade down Calabasas Road through Old Town Calabasas at dusk. Included will be a “safe trick or treat” opportunity for costumed children. Proceeds will benefit charities. Call (818) 225-2227.

Calahan Elementary School, 18722 Knapp St., Northridge, sponsors a Halloween festival with a “Spooky Space Station,” moon bounce, pumpkin-carving contest, magician, fortune teller, dunk tank, games and food from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Game tickets are 25 cents each at the door. Call (818) 886-4612.

Common Grounds, 9250 Reseda Blvd., Northridge, will have a Halloween dress-up party with the band Diga Jiga at 9 p.m. Call (818) 882-3666.

Glendale Public Library, 222 E. Harvard St., will have a free Halloween haunt with stories and scares for ages 3 and older from 2 to 3 p.m. Costumes encouraged. Call (818) 548-2035.

Los Angeles Zoo, in Griffith Park at the junction of the Ventura and Golden State freeways, presents “Boo at the Zoo” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday. Featured will be zoo animals “stomping and chomping” pumpkins, a guided tour of night-loving species and the chance to create a beastly mask or owl puppet. Activities are free with paid zoo admission. Zoo admission is $8.25 general, $5.25 seniors, $3.25 children aged 2 to 12. Free for children under 2. Northridge Recreation Center, 18300 Lemarsh St., sponsors a haunted house from 7 to 10 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday and Monday. A carnival featuring contests, games, booths and refreshments runs from noon to 4 p.m. today. Admission to haunted house $3; children ages 6 and younger free when accompanied by adult. Spooky House, 23812 Friar St., Woodland Hills, features Woodland Hills Youth Club spirits who will lead guests on a terror tour of a specially engineered torture chamber from 6 to 11:30 p.m. today, and 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
