3D Systems Reports Sharp Earnings Rise

3D Systems Corp., a Valencia producer of computer-based systems that make models of engineered parts, said third-quarter earnings were $733,221, a significant jump from last year’s third-quarter earnings of $270,305. Revenues for the quarter, which ended Sept. 30, were $11.2 million, up 39% from $8.05 million in the same period the previous year.

For the nine months, the company reported its earnings grew to $2.07 million compared to a net loss of $920,969 the previous year. Sales were $31.08 million, up 38% from $22.45 million in the first nine months of last year.

The company attributed the results for the nine months to increased sales, especially of its newest product, which allows engineers to make plastic models of parts they’ve designed or molds which aid in fashioning prototypes from metal.
