CareLine Inc.: The Irvine ambulance service provider posted profits of $1.4 million, or 9 cents a share, for the third quarter. That contrasted with a loss of $1.2 million, or 16 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Revenue rose to $49.7 million from $6.8 million. The company said the gains were largely attributable to acquisitions made during the last four months of 1993 and the first nine months of 1994. Profit for the nine-month period totaled $3.2 million, or 22 cents a share, contrasted with a loss of $1.3 million, or 17 cents a share, for the comparable three quarters of 1993. Nine-month revenue was up to $95.8 million from $15.6 million.
