Radial Tires Recalled: A subsidiary of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has announced the recall of 76,699 recently made radial tires because some may be subject to premature failure or sudden air loss. The recall involves tires made the week of Sept. 11 at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. plant in Tyler, Tex. A Kelly-Springfield spokesman said customers should return the recalled tires to stores where they were purchased or to any dealer selling the same brand of tire to receive replacements. The recalls involve Kelly-Springfield brands and numerous private-label brands. Sizes recalled are P185/75R14, P195/75R14, 185/70R14 and 195/70R14. The serial numbers start with “PL” and conclude with “374.” Kelly-Springfield is based in Cumberland, Md., and is owned by Akron, Ohio-based Goodyear, the U.S. tire market leader.
