South County Water, Sewer Districts to Merge
A water district and a sewer district serving residents in Dana Point and parts of San Clemente will merge Jan. 1.
The merger of the Capistrano County Water District and the Capistrano Beach Sanitary District was approved Wednesday by the Local Agency Formation Commission.
The name proposed for the reorganized district is Beach Cities Water District.
The merger will save about $350,000 in the first fiscal year and almost the same in each of the two following fiscal years, said Sara Anderson, an executive officer with the commission.
