Washington State’s sophomore quarterback, Chad Davis, at one time held the national high school career passing yardage record.

Davis, who played at three high schools--Palm Springs, Del Mar Torrey Pines and San Diego Mira Mesa--passed for 9,332 yards.

Davis, who transferred from Oklahoma to Washington State after one year, has started every game this season and is a 57% passer with nine touchdown passes.

USC has another injury at guard. Freshman starter Chris Brymer sprained an ankle during pregame warm-ups for the Cal game two weeks ago and might not be on the plane when USC leaves today for Pullman.

Previously, Clay Hattabaugh and Phalen Pounds were sidelined after knee surgery. Kris Pollack and Kyle Ramsay are expected to start at guard Saturday.

Also, junior linebacker Errick Herrin has a thigh bruise that has kept him out of practice and his status for Saturday is uncertain.
