L.A. drummer Jack Irons is not going to replace the fired Dave Abbruzzese in Pearl Jam, as has been rumored. Irons, who sat in with Pearl Jam at the recent Bridge School benefit concert near San Francisco, will stick with Eleven, the band he’s been with for the past several years. Eleven is set to start work on a new album in December. . . .

Megadeth’s new “Youthanasia” album has been banned in Malaysia and Singapore due to cover art portraying infants being hung on a clothesline, which authorities have deemed “disrespectful.” Several Canadian and German record retailers have also refused to carry it, but group leader Dave Mustaine defends the artwork as representing “children being hung out to dry” by society, and says he will not provide an alternative cover. . . .

The lineup for the Jerky Boys’ movie soundtrack album has been set, with songs by Green Day, Coolio, Superchunk, Helmet, House of Pain and the Wu-Tang Clan joining already announced contributions from Collective Soul and Tom Jones. Jones is doing a version of “Are You Gonna Go My Way,” produced by the song’s writer, Lenny Kravitz. The album is due Jan. 24. . . .
