NBA : Suns Extend Their Heat Streak
Kevin Johnson, who had 29 points, broke Phoenix’s cold spell with a 20-foot jumper late in the game, and the Suns continued their mastery of the Miami Heat with a 119-107 victory Sunday night.
Phoenix, the only NBA team Miami hasn’t beaten, improved to 15-0 in the series.
Johnson’s shot from the top of the key with 2:29 left ended an 8-0 Miami run and gave Phoenix a 109-105 lead. He later made six free throws.
Rookie Wesley Person, who scored four points Friday night when Sacramento defeated the Suns 107-89, hit seven of 11 shots and finished with 23 points. Dan Majerle had 20 points and a career-high 15 rebounds for the Suns.
Glen Rice scored 23 points for the Heat.
