Big Three Car Makers to Sell More Vehicles to China: The top auto manufacturers in the United States said they reached agreements to sell 2,100 minivans to the Chinese government. Separately, General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Corp. said the purchase was made by a buying delegation representing the China National Vehicle Import & Export Corp. The announcements coincided with a visit to Detroit’s auto makers by Chinese Vice Premier Li Lanqing and marks the third year in a row that the U.S. companies have sold vehicles to Beijing. Ford Chairman Alex Trotman said his company has signed an agreement to establish a new $15-million automotive electronics plant in Shanghai. All three U.S. car companies have been vying for the opportunity to build vehicles in the country.
