FileNet Sued; Patent Infringement Alleged

FileNet Corp. said Wednesday that Wang Laboratories Inc. has filed a lawsuit alleging that FileNet is infringing on five patents Wang holds.
The Costa Mesa document imaging company said that Wang, the computer and information products maker in Lowell, Mass., did not specify the FileNet products involved. FileNet said it is evaluating Wang’s complaint and has begun to talk with Wang to resolve the lawsuit, filed in federal court in Massachusetts.
FileNet’s stock was unaffected by the news. It closed Wednesday at $25.75 a share in Nasdaq trading, up 12.5 cents.
