Microsoft Announces $100-Million Ad Campaign: The company said the international advertising effort aims to make the company’s brand name known in the rapidly growing consumer side of the computer market. While Microsoft Corp. is the dominant maker of software for personal computers, executives say the company is rarely identified when consumers are asked about their impressions of the industry. The new advertisements, including television commercials that will begin airing Monday, are intended to build interest in the company and its products, including its Windows 95 operating system and planned on-line service--both expected out by mid-1995.
