A New Twist to Pop Fashion: Sun Apparel Inc., one of the world’s largest jeanswear manufacturers, is launching Code Bleu, a line of jeans made from what it calls Soda Pop Denim--cotton and synthetic fibers spun from recycled plastic. Fibers used to weave the fabric come from soda bottles that have been sorted by color, cleaned and melted into solid pellets. The pellets are then re-melted, spun into fiber, drawn, cut and blended with cotton. The El Paso, Tex.-based company says two soda bottles go into the making of every pair of jeans.
