While We’re on the Subject: In another development in the jeans world, Levi Strauss & Co. has entered the modern age with computer-aided, made-to-order women’s jeans. Sales clerks at Original Levi’s Stores will take a customer’s measurements and send them electronically to a factory in Tennessee, where the jeans are custom-made. The customer pays about $10 more for the jeans than for a mass-produced pair, Levi’s said.
