Credit Caution
While driving in Italy this fall, we stopped at Hotel Grand Fasano, which you wrote about in July (“Lakeside Romances”). We were surprised that this first-class hotel did not accept credit cards. We were short of cash and travelers checks, so we didn’t stay. In times past, we always got by with credit cards. This time, stopping in other than major tourist spots, we found that one better have more than credit cards. Next time, more travelers checks and a PIN for the Visa for ATM use will be a priority.
