COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Shine Scores 18 Points to Lead Orange Coast

Jamie Shine had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Orange Coast to a 64-61 victory over Butte Sunday in the consolation final of the Chaffey women’s basketball tournament.

Kathleen Kelly made a free throw with six seconds left to give the Pirates (2-1) a three-point lead and Butte missed a three-pointer at the buzzer.

In another Chaffey tournament game:

Golden West 71, Chaffey 54--Deana Itow had 18 points, Katie Miner had 10 and Farrah Magee had four points and 10 rebounds for Golden West (2-1) in the third-place game.

In the Reno (Nev.) Shootout men’s basketball tournament:

Irvine Valley 100, Bakersfield 73--Keon Clark had 24 points and eight rebounds and Rashad Wilson scored 20 points for Irvine Valley (2-1) in the fifth-place game. Antoine James had 14 points and eight rebounds. Bakersfield Coach Mark Arce was ejected with 14 minutes left after Irvine led by 32 points.
