BRIEFLY : Education: Honors Won by Student

A Westside resident attending Harvard University has been awarded two academic honors.

Shauna Howarth, 19, was recently named an Elizabeth Cary Agassiz Honorary Scholar for academic achievement. She also was named as a John Harvard Scholar for achieving straight As in her courses as a freshman.

Howarth, a graduate of Brentwood High School, is majoring in English and literature. She plans to participate next summer in a program sponsored by the Vatican Library in Rome, cataloguing Vatican artwork.
