Furon Co.: The Laguna Niguel producer of industrial components said third-quarter profit rose 55% to $3.4 million, or 37 cents a share, from $2.2 million, or 25 cents a share, for the same quarter last fiscal year. Sales for the quarter ended Oct. 29 increased to $81.1 million from $70 million. For the nine-month period, profit was up 50% to $8.4 million, or 94 cents a share, from $5.6 million, or 63 cents a share, for the same period last year. Sales rose to $231.2 million from $217.4 million.
