Perceptronics Inc., a Woodland Hills-based manufacturer and developer of computer-based training systems, reported net income of $12,399 in its second fiscal quarter that ended Sept. 30, compared to a year-earlier loss of $94,051.

Revenues in the latest quarter totaled $1.56 million, up 10% from $1.41 million a year earlier. For the first six months of its 1995 fiscal year, Perceptronics reported earnings of $51,806 on sales of $3.39 million, compared to a year-earlier loss of $574,900 on sales of $3.32 million.

Gershon Weltman, chief executive of Perceptronics, said marketing efforts have boosted the company’s contract backlog to the highest level in several years. On Sept. 30, the contract backlog totaled $5.9 million, up 51% from a year earlier.

Weltman also said the company is “exploring opportunities to combine with other companies as a way to achieve Perceptronics’ long-term growth goals.”
