MRV Communications to Offer 1 Million Shares

MRV Communications Inc., a Chatsworth-based manufacturer of semiconductor and fiber optic products, said it has filed an application with the Securities and Exchange Commission to offer 1 million shares of common stock at $14.25 per share.

About 750,000 shares will be sold by the company and 250,000 more by certain stockholders. MRV said the shares could be offered next month or in January by an underwriting group managed by Hampshire Securities Corp.

The company said it would use the $9.21 million in expected net proceeds to fund research and development, the purchase of manufacturing and testing equipment, marketing activities, and possibly investment in “complementary businesses, products or technologies.”
