Share

The Inn at the Park, a 497-room hotel near Anaheim Convention Center, is in default on its mortgage payments, county records show. The hotel, with an estimated value of $14 million, owes $833,451 for five months’ back mortgage payments to the Resolution Trust Corp., as of Nov. 1, according to the county.

“It’s a well-located hotel, but an older, tired property which needs a major renovation,” said Donald Wise, a broker who specializes in hotel operations for CB Commercial Real Estate Group in Anaheim. Wise estimated that the hotel needs a $10-million to $11-million renovation.

The hotel’s general manger, Robert Zonitch) said the partnership that owns the hotel was current on its payments, but would not provide details. Brian Korbell, reportedly one of the partners who owns the hotel, could not be reached for comment.
