Daimler-Benz to Manufacture Autos in Vietnam: The German auto maker has signed a $70-million agreement to manufacture cars in the southern commercial hub of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Foreign Investment newspaper reported. The first phase of the joint venture will be an assembly plant in the Go Vap district of the city to produce tourism cars, minibuses, medium-weight buses and lightweight trucks. A second stage will build big buses and medium-weight trucks, the paper said.
