Unocal Unit Realigns to Boost Fuel Products Visibility

76 Products Co., the Brea-based refining and marketing arm of Unocal Corp., has realigned its management team in an attempt to boost the visibility of the company’s fuel products. The former manager of retail marketing, R. Clint Mercer, has been named general manager for retail sales. In his new job, Mercer will be responsible for all gasoline and diesel fuel sales through retail and marketer channels of trade. Garry D. Rooney, former manager for commercial marketing, is the new general manager for lubricant sales. Timothy J. Tomasso will be general manager of marketing operations, with responsibility for operations that support Mercer’s and Rooney’s sales groups.

Shelley J. Bahr has been appointed advertising manager for Orange National Bank. She joined the bank in 1990 as marketing assistant.

* David Jahr has been promoted to manager of marketing for Star Trac, a Tustin manufacturer of fitness equipment. He was previously corporate communications manager.

* James Wittry has been appointed to the new position of senior vice president of sales for the Americas at AST Research Inc. in Irvine. He was formerly senior vice president of sales at Ingram Micro Inc. in Santa Ana.

* Cynthia Stout has joined the Orange County Teachers Federal Credit Union in Santa Ana as vice president of lending. She was formerly a vice president at ITT Financial Services, Marine Midland Bank and Bank of America.

* John Petersen has joined Silicon Systems, a Tustin semiconductor company, as director for strategic business development. In the newly created position, he will be responsible for identifying and developing new market opportunities. Petersen was previously vice president and managing director of Western Digital’s Imaging Business Unit. He has held senior management positions in technology development, engineering and quality with Rockwell International and Motorola Semiconductor Products.

David Pear has been promoted to southern zone vice president for Domino’s Pizza Inc., giving him responsibility for 187 stores in nine states. He will be based at the company’s regional office in Santa Ana. Pear joined Domino’s in 1985 and later became assistant to the regional vice president in Dallas. He became national director of corporate operations in 1992 and a divisional vice president in 1993. Pear becomes one of four regional vice presidents in charge of Domino’s U.S. stores.
