Liquor Store Clerk Likely to Survive Being Shot in Head
A Westminster liquor store clerk is expected to survive after being shot in the head by ayouth Wednesday night, police said.
Shawn Kim, 29, a clerk at TJ’s Liquor, 15456 Brookhurst St., confronted three youths who appeared to be teen-agers as they were leaving the store without paying for beer, according to Sgt. Dan Kerr of the Westminster Police Department. One of the youths dropped the beer and shot the clerk with a pistol, Kerr said.
Kim was rushed to UCI Medical Center, where he was listed in guarded condition Thursday.
The youths, who were still are large, fled northbound on Brookhurst in an older-model blue Nissan Sentra, police said.
