Founder’s Son: Mark Pick, son of the late founder of Pick Systems Inc., Richard A. Pick, is joining the company as its chief operating officer, a spokesman said Friday.

Pick, 36, will leave his current post at Unidata Inc. in Denver to join the Newport Beach database company, which has 120 employees worldwide. His father died of stroke complications last month.

Pick Systems’ programs are designed to organize data so that different computer systems can access it at the same time, creating a library of information.
