19 Iran Cities Flooded

NICOSIA, Cyprus —
Torrential rains in Iran caused flooding in 19 cities and 700 villages when rivers overflowed and bridges washed away, Tehran radio reported.
The radio quoted an unidentified official as saying that 10,000 homes and shops or offices were damaged, along with 2,470 acres of agricultural land. He said damage was estimated at $171.4 million.
