Kevin Bernzott has been elected chairman of the board of trustees of the California Business Week Foundation.

The nonprofit group, based in Ventura, annually invites high school students to a one-week session where business executives lead discussions of the private enterprise system.

Bernzott heads Bernzott Capital Advisors and is the former chief executive of McGaelic Group, a real estate development firm.

The new chairman is president-elect of the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce and is also president-elect of the Ventura/Santa Barbara chapter of the National Assn. of Industrial and Office Properties.
