Leafy green vegetables and fruits of all descriptions got a new boost recently. The Harvard Heart Letter reports that new medical studies suggest the vitamins folate and B6 found in these comon foods play a part in reducing the risk of heart attack. They’d always been thought good for plenty of other reasons, but a role in reducing risk from heart disease is an additional reason for eating them. Natch, the Letter reports, studies also point out that most Americans--about 80%--don’t bother getting the recommended amount of these vitamins.
