Share

The Fountain Valley and Westminster police departments will conduct a sobriety checkpoint between 10 tonight and 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The checkpoint will be near the border between the cities on Brookhurst Street near Edinger Avenue.

The Fountain Valley Police Department has been conducting sobriety checkpoints since 1992. Police said the idea is to identify drivers who are intoxicated as well as to educate the public about the seriousness of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Fountain Valley Police Sgt. Kevin McKeown said that with the holiday season nearing, “if you do drink, find a designated nondrinking driver before you begin your celebrations.”
