EAST LOS ANGELES : Conservation Corps Will Honor Crews
The Los Angeles Conservation Corps will hold a Recognition Dinner and Dance on Friday to acknowledge the accomplishments of work crews during the year.
Crews, usually made up of teen-agers and young adults who have dropped out of school but are working on their high school diplomas, walk the streets cleaning up neighborhoods and painting out graffiti.
The dinner will be from 5 to 10:30 p.m. at the American Red Cross, 5051 E. 3rd St. A $50 fee includes dinner and entertainment for four.
