WESTMINSTER : District to Auction Its Surplus Supplies

More than 2,000 surplus benches, maps, typewriters and other items will be auctioned during a Westminster School District sale Dec. 21.

Money from the sale of obsolete property will be used to improve buildings and classrooms at campuses districtwide, district spokeswoman Audrey Brown said.

Items including cars, pianos, movie projectors, vacuum cleaners and playground equipment will be available for inspection on Dec. 13 and 14 from noon to 5 p.m. at Virginia K. Boos Elementary School. The school is at 13890 Hammon Place.

Bids on sale items may be submitted to the district administration office, 13121 Cedarwood Ave., until 9 a.m. Dec. 21. The minimum bid for any item is $1 and all items will be sold as is, Brown said.

Bids will be opened on Dec. 21 and successful bidders will be notified by mail. Drawings will be used to resolve any ties in the bidding amounts. Items may be paid for with cash, cashier’s checks or money orders payable to the Westminster School District. All sales are subject to 7.75% sales tax unless a resale permit is presented, Brown said.
