Legal Representation Rules to Be Considered

Share

As a step toward possibly replacing the city’s legal firm, council members will meet tonight to consider the requirements for any new firm representing Tustin.

The city has contracted legal services from Rourke, Woodruff & Spradlin for more than three decades. Councilman Jim Potts said that after such a long time, the city now needs “to see what’s out there.”

City Manager William A. Huston presented a draft list of qualifications for legal firms at the last council meeting. Discussion on the matter was postponed, however, so Potts and Mayor Thomas R. Saltarelli could both submit revisions.

Council members agree that legal matters will take on increasing importance in coming years as the city grapples with complex land use issues, such as the future of the Tustin Marine Corps Helicopter Air Station.
