Lands’ End CEO Quits: William T. End resigned as president and chief executive of the Dodgeville, Wis.-based catalogue retailer and was replaced by Michael J. Smith. End, 47, who was lured to Lands’ End from rival L.L. Bean in 1991, resigned because of disagreements with the board over management style, the company said. Smith, 34, had been vice president of Coming Home, a Lands’ End division that sells bed and bath products, since 1991.
