Recording Provides Shelter Information
County officials have created a new telephone extension for recorded information about the Emergency Warming Shelter for the Homeless operated by the American Red Cross.
The number to call is 654-5000, and the new seven-digit extension is 1018901.
A recording tells whether the shelter will be open that night, times for volunteers and the homeless to arrive and whether the shelter’s location has changed.
Daily announcements are also available at local libraries, the Red Cross, Salvation Army offices, Catholic Charities, Project Understanding, the Turning Point Foundation, Food Share and Interface Children Family Services.
