VILLA PARK : City to Consider Laws on Trash, Eyesores
The City Council will soon consider toughening laws on property maintenance.
Proposed changes in the law would allow fines for broken and unused machinery sitting on property and broken windows that are not promptly repaired.
Another change would prohibit trash storage in front or side yards if visible from public streets. Trash and garbage also could not be stored in areas that are deemed public right of ways.
No date has yet been set for consideration of these changes, which City Manager Fred Maley has told the council he will propose soon.
