MOORPARK : Montgomery Says He May Leave Office

Share

Defeated in his bid for a seat on the Ventura County Board of Supervisors, Moorpark City Councilman Scott Montgomery is considering resigning his city office and moving out of state.

Montgomery, who has two more years to serve on his four-year term, said he has received several job offers from securities firms that specialize in municipal finance.

He said he is considering offers from companies in Nevada, Alabama and New York.

“We’d really like to stay here if we can,” he said.

Montgomery said he closed his own financial consulting business because of campaign demands and worked nights delivering newspapers to pay his bills. He has also been left with a $15,000 debt from his campaign.

He expects to decide within a few weeks whether he will move or take a job in the area.
