Arafat’s Wife Expecting Child
Yasser Arafat is going to be a father. His wife, Suha, announced her pregnancy in an interview with Israel Radio’s Arabic-language service. She is 1 1/2 months pregnant.
Arafat, 65, who leaves for Norway today to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, got the news Wednesday night.
“The timing is good. It will be the child of peace,” said Suha Arafat, 31, who married the Palestinian leader in 1991.
It will be the couple’s first biological child. They also care for 38 war orphans Arafat brought out of Palestinian refugee camps.
