Basically, I think all the county supervisors and auditor Steve Lewis should resign or really get tremendous professional help here. For Supervisor Harriett Wieder to point fingers and accuse other people is incredible when she was sitting there. None of these people read these reports. The reports go back to 1982-’82, ‘83, ’84. It’s ridiculous to blame any one person. All of them are to blame. And it’s pitiful. And all the little people who just pay their bills and ay their taxes are going to pay this consequence. And all these people in their fancy suits and their fancy dresses are just all pointing fingers. It’s a disgrace to all the management of Orange County.

In the long run, Orange County must develop a business plan with oversight provisions designed to provide investment returns consistent with the fiduciary responsibilities it has to the taxpayers--i.e., the people paying the bills. It is, however, the short run I am currently most concerned with. I find it difficult to contemplate the patient’s recovery when I’m not sure it will survive the operation. We, the people paying the bills, deserve and demand more open and honest communication regarding the scope of the problem and the available options. Toward that end, where the hell is Bob Citron?
