Santa will make house calls this Christmas season--for a fee.
The Community Services Department will be offering the Santa visits to residents. A 15-minute visit from the rotund man in the red suit will cost $20. For 30 minutes, the charge will be $30.
Santa will be available from 6 to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays starting this Saturday through Dec. 23.
City officials insist they have not put Santa to work to make money. Garden Grove is one of only two Orange County cities that have not invested in the troubled county investment pool. There’s no urgency for a fast buck; the fee is simply to recover the cost of the service, they said.
