Coalition for Quality Offers Guidebook for Kids’ Videos

Share

If finding good home videos for kids is a challenge, the Coalition for Quality Children’s Video, a not-for-profit organization made up of industry professionals, educators, care-givers and others, has just issued its first video guidebook.

“Kids First Directory” is a softcover glossy that lists about 300 recommended videos for infants through teen-agers, with descriptions, information on where to find them and video viewing tips for parents. Among the nationally chosen screening jury are children’s librarians, early childhood education specialists and other professionals, and kids themselves--about 2,000 of them.

The guidebook is available for a $25 membership in the organization; a basic listing of recommended titles is free. Write the coalition at 535 Cordova Road, Suite 456, Santa Fe, N.M. 87501 or call (505) 989-8076. For e-mail: kidsfirst@santafe.edu
