A felony charge has been filed against Gerald Perry, the Raiders’ left offensive tackle, who is accused of firing two shots from a handgun out the window of a car Nov. 12 in Los Angeles. No one was hurt in the incident.

Perry was arrested after the incident, which occurred on his 30th birthday. He is free on bail, thought to be $15,000, pending arraignment today on one count of discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, according to Deborah Kranze, deputy district attorney. Perry faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison if convicted.

A date will be set today for a preliminary hearing.

In the meantime, Perry can continue playing for the Raiders, who finish the regular season Saturday, but hope to qualify for postseason play.

Two Raider teammates in the car at the time of the incident were not charged. The district attorney’s office declined to identify them.

Raider official Al LoCasale said he had no knowledge of the incident.

The 6-foot-6, 305-pound Perry practiced Tuesday, having recovered from a concussion suffered Sunday.
