Toys Recalled: Kidpower Inc. has recalled a racetrack car set because of a manufacturing defect that could pose a choking hazard to children. The company said some of the 18,000 Zap Zap Racetrack car sets it sold were either wrongly assembled or not assembled. Wheels and other small parts in the set present a potential choking hazard to young children, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said this week. The commission said it knows of no injuries involving the toys, which were sold nationwide this year through Fingerhut catalogue sales, Toys R Us stores and other retailers. The commission said the toys should be taken away from children immediately and consumers could contact Kidpower at (800) 545-7529 for replacement instructions.

Other product announcements this week include:

* Jade Express Inc. of Los Angeles is recalling 80,000 three- and six-piece Hello Baby toy rattle sets imported from China. The CPSC said the rattles separated into small parts when dropped, posing a choking hazard to small children. The sets, which sold for $5 and $10, respectively, were sold by chain, discount and toy stores between October, 1993, and August, 1994.

* Target Stores of Minneapolis is recalling 48,000 Inflatable Snoopy Plastic Christmas children’s toys after one report that the inflater plug detaches, posing a potential choking hazard to young children.
