Fewer Orange County homeowners are taking losses when they sell their houses this year than in 1993, reflecting the trend in Southern California and across the state. That pattern is likely to continue, real estate experts say, given that home prices are stabilizing.

Although half of Orange County home sellers are taking losses this year, that is an improvement from 1993. Across the region, only San Bernardino County is showing an increase this year in the percentage of homes sold at a loss.
