Mark Ozur Selected as New President of Digital Sound

Digital Sound Corp. announced the appointment of Mark Ozur as president and chief executive, succeeding Robert T. Knight, who has been elected chairman of the firm. Knight succeeds J. David Hann, 62, who will remain on the board of the Carpinteria-based manufacturer of high-capacity network-based message processing systems. Ozur, 38, was previously executive vice president and general manager and joined Digital in May, 1993. Before that, he was vice president of engineering at Precision Visuals Inc. in Boulder, Colo. Knight, 57, who became president and CEO in 1991, was previously vice chairman of the firm.

* Jeffrey L. Newman has joined First Interstate Bank of California’s Trust and Private Services Group as executive vice president, managing director of First Interstate Portfolio Lending Services Inc. Newman is responsible for supervising the division’s 22 professionals and overseeing all of its securities lending activities. Previously, Newman worked for Bank of New York, where he was responsible for the securities lending division.

* Donald L. Harrill has been elected senior vice president-vacation ownership operations of Hilton Hotels Corp. and chief executive of Hilton Grand Vacations Co. Hilton also announced the election of Jim Abrahamson a senior vice president-franchising and select hotels. Both appointments are effective Jan. 1. Harrill, 44, will be responsible for day-to-day operations of Hilton Grand Vacations Co., a joint venture of Hilton Resorts Co., a Hilton subsidiary, and Grand Vacations Ltd. He was previously executive vice president-Hilton Inns Inc. and senior vice president-franchising Hilton Hotels. Abrahamson, 39, was most recently senior vice president-select hotels, overseeing operating of Hilton Suites, Hilton Garden Inns.
