ComputerFocus, a computer training institute, has moved from Ventura to the State Compensation Insurance Fund Building in Oxnard’s Town Center.

Several software companies, including Novell and Microsoft, have provided exhibits to help the firm during its opening celebration.

Charles Spinnler, ComputerFocus’ director of marketing and sales, said the school, founded in 1988, has provided training for the Navy, Air Force and numerous Ventura County companies.

He said thousands of students have honed their computer skills in the institute’s classrooms.

“A lot of our students are repeats,” he said. “Every two or three years, software changes so drastically that practically everybody who uses a computer has to be retrained.”
