The ever-popular “New Vic” folks return to the Santa Barbara movie scene--this time popping up at the Lobero Theatre with Ridley Scott’s “The Browning Version,” starring Albert Finney. Running through Saturday, the show is at 3 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Next up will be David Mamet’s “Oleanna,” opening on New Year’s Day.

The Lobero’s renovation includes the addition of 35-millimeter film equipment and Dolby stereo with surround-sound speakers.

Paul Arganbright, the Lobero’s program director, was formerly the managing general partner of the Victoria Street Theater (which subsequently became the vagabond New Vic).

General admission for the two movies and other upcoming films is $6 (adults) and $4 (students and seniors). There will also be frequent $4 bargain shows. The Lobero is located at 33 E. Canon Perdido. Call 563-1438 for “Oleanna” show times and more information.
