VENTURA : Bandits Rob Clerk and Motel Guest
Ventura detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a Motel 6 in which two men wearing ski masks stole cash from a clerk and a truck driver registering for a room.
No one was injured in the robbery Wednesday night at the Johnson Drive motel, although one of the bandits threatened to kill the driver with a sawed-off shotgun while waiting for the clerk to hand over the cash.
Police would not say how much money was taken.
Cpl. Jim Burt said the robbery may be linked to a holdup Tuesday night at Susie’s Deals on Telephone Road. In that incident, two robbers, one carrying a sawed-off rifle or shotgun, stole money from a clerk.
Police have had no suspects in either case, Burt said.
