Statuto Named Head of St. Joseph Health System
Richard J. Statuto has been selected as the new president and chief executive of St. Joseph Health System in Orange, which owns and operates nine hospitals and other health services. He succeeds David A. Reed. Statuto, who has been with St. Joseph’s for four years, had been chief operating officer since April. Before that, he was vice president of business development, marketing and planing for Bon Secours Health System in Maryland.
* David Cantwell has been appointed vice president of the new Irvine office of Equis, a Chicago-based real estate company. Before joining Equis, he was a founding partner of Meridian Pacific in Irvine.
* William Lawless has joined the panel of Real Estate Arbitration and Mediation Services in Newport Beach. He will continue to direct Judge-Net, a national network of retired trial judges he founded. Lawless was previously a justice of the New York Supreme Court for 10 years, dean of the Notre Dame Law School and president of the Western State University School of Law.
* Steve E. Galloway has been appointed director of environmental services for Holmes & Narver Inc., an Orange engineering, architecture and construction management company. He had been a manager of environmental projects. Before joining Holmes & Narver two years ago, Galloway was with IT Corp. and Nalco Chemical.
* Jane Samson has been elected president of the board of directors of Women in Commercial Real Estate, Orange County chapter. She is a partner with the law firm of Morrison and Forester.
* Rick Hodgman has been appointed vice president of wafer fabrication operations at Silicon Systems in Tustin. He succeeds Don Crim, who has left the company. Hodgman will work at the company’s Santa Cruz site. Hodgman, who has been with Silicon Systems for 13 years, was previously managing director of the Singapore assembly and test operation. Succeeding Hodgman in that position is David Ng, who joined the company in 1987 as test engineering manager.
* Vicki Rumsey has joined the Doubletree Hotel Orange County in Orange as director of sales. She was formerly West Coast senior sales manager and manager of training for Walt Disney Co.
