Irvine Electronics Firm Posts $6.5-Million Loss

Aurora Electronics: The Irvine-based electronics company reported a loss of $6.5 million, or 87 cents a share, for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30. That contrasted with a profit of $3 million, or 48 cents, for the previous 12 months. Annual revenue was $120.4 million, up from $58.3 million. For its fourth fiscal quarter, the company posted a loss of $9.1 million, or $1.21 a share, contrasted with a profit of $523,000, or 8 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Three-month revenue was $32.4 million, up 71% from $18.9 million a year earlier. The company attributed its losses in part to provisions for discontinued operations and settlement of a class-action lawsuit.
