Israeli police and hundreds of right-wing demonstrators clashed outside Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin’s residence Saturday night, witnesses said.

One policeman was injured and 14 people were arrested when police used water cannons and horses to disperse a crowd calling for tighter security in the occupied West Bank.

Many demonstrators were Jewish settlers from the West Bank. They were angry about increased attacks--the latest on Friday, when Palestinian gunmen ambushed a car and killed Ofra Felix, 20, from the Jewish settlement of Elon Moreh near Nablus.
