SANTA MONICA : New Farmers Market Will Sprout Jan. 15

Santa Monica is scheduled on Jan. 15 to open its fourth weekly farmers market, an open-air market on Main Street.

From 9 a.m. to noon, vendors will be selling fresh produce and flowers from booths in the parking lot behind the Heritage Museum in the 2600 block of Main Street.

The market, to be held every Sunday, will also feature live music and prepared foods from local restaurants. There are nearly a dozen other farmers markets on the Westside, including:

* Beverly Hills, 200 block of N. Canon Drive, Sundays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

* Hollywood, Ivar Street between Hollywood Boulevard and Selma Avenue, Sundays, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

* Santa Monica, Arizona Avenue and 2nd Street, Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

* Santa Monica, Cloverfield and Pico boulevards, Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

* Venice, Venice and Ocean boulevards, Fridays, 7 to 11 a.m.

* West Hollywood, Santa Monica Boulevard at Plummer Park, Mondays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

* Westchester, 6200 block of West 87th Street, Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

* Westwood, Weyburn Avenue and Westwood Boulevard, Thursdays, 3 to 7 p.m.
